Nurturing Mind, Body, and Community

Cultivating Calm
Growth Mindset in Action
In neighborhoods where "survival mode" is the default, Cultivating Calm © provides a pathway to "growth mode."
Cultivating Calm © is more than an environmental science program; it is a commitment to the physiological and psychological flourishing of our community's future, creating the leaders and stewards who will sustain our community for generations to come

Therapeutic School Gardens
"Living laboratories" for mental wellness
The Calming Effect: We connect students to the inherently therapeutic aspects of nature, providing a predictable and peaceful sanctuary away from environmental stressors.
The Nurturing Process: By following a plant from seed to harvest, students develop patience, mindfulness, and a deep-rooted connection to the earth and their local food system.

Cutting Edge Technology
Timeless Messaging
Hydroponic Innovation & Harvest Parties
We bring the future of farming directly into the classroom by providing schools with vertical hydroponic towers.
The 6-Week Cycle: Every six weeks, the classroom transforms into a celebration of health.
Harvest Parties: Students participate in "Harvest Parties" where they reap what they’ve grown to create nutrient-dense, family-sized salads.
Home Integration: By taking these salads home to share, students shift from being consumers to being providers of health for their entire household

Multi-generational mentorship
The Village Approach
The Calm Crew: Our teen and young adult employees act as mentors to elementary students, modeling leadership and healthy habits.
Community Connection: We foster relationships between students, local growers, and neighborhood elders, ensuring that agricultural wisdom and community pride are passed down through the generations.
